Writing practice: The Movement We Love
Some movements mean more to us than others.
We all have movements we return to.
Walking through the city. Swimming. Dancing alone in the kitchen. Running. Stretching in the morning. Cycling without a destination.
Some movements feel almost effortless. They belong to us in a way that is difficult to explain.
Perhaps it is the rhythm. The repetition. The feeling of being inside your body rather than inside your thoughts.
There is something interesting about writing about movement because movement is something we usually experience without putting words to it.
We simply do it.
But when we pay attention, there is often much more to notice.
A movement has a rhythm. A texture. A mood.
And sometimes, the way we move can tell us something about who we are.
